Windward SeaVenture is proud to offer our popular one-week sailing camp designed specifically for youth ages 10-16. This immersive experience combines fun on the water with comprehensive sailing education, all under the guidance of our highly experienced captain/instructors.
Over the course of five exciting days, your child will progress from sailing basics to confidently handling a boat during our end-of-week mini regatta. Our youth sailing camp is the perfect blend of adventure, education, and accomplishment that builds confidence both on and off the water.

Monday begins in our classroom environment where students will
Learn essential sailing terminology and communication
Discover the parts of a sailboat and their functions
Understand basic sailing principles and theory
Receive comprehensive water safety instruction
Get acquainted with fellow campers through team-building activities
Tuesday and Wednesday move to practical application on Clear Lake where students will
Apply classroom knowledge to real sailing situations
Practice fundamental sailing maneuvers including tacking and jibing
Learn proper sail trimming for different points of sail
Develop boat handling skills with direct instructor guidance
Work together as a team to efficiently operate their vessel
Thursday focuses on perfecting skills and preparing for the regatta
Further practice of sailing techniques with increasing independence
Introduction to basic racing rules and strategy
Regatta course familiarization and practice runs
For students 14+ who chose the certification option, completion of the ASA 101 test
Final preparation for Friday's showcase event

For older youth (ages 14 and up), we offer the valuable opportunity to earn official ASA 101 certification during camp.

No prior experience is necessary! Our program is designed to teach beginners from the ground up.
Basic swimming comfort is recommended, but not strictly required as life jackets are worn at all times on the water.
We monitor weather conditions closely. In case of unsafe conditions, we have indoor activities and sailing theory lessons prepared. We may adjust the schedule to make up on-water time.
We maintain small class sizes with a maximum of 12 students and a 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio.
Students should bring their own lunch and snacks each day.
Parents are welcome to observe from shore during the week and join our spectator boat for Friday's regatta (please reserve a spot).
